Diesel price up by Rs. 5; LPG cylinders cut to six a year

The diesel price will go up by Rs. 5 a litre and a household will get only six domestic LPG (14.2 Kg) cylinders per annum. These decisions were taken by the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) at a meeting on Thursday.

The decision to go in for the sharp diesel price hike, which excludes value added tax, will take effect from midnight on Friday.The CCPA, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, also decided to reduce the excise duty on petrol by Rs. 5.50 a litre from Rs. 14.78, adjusting the recent spurt in international crude prices, which have touched $114 a barrel. The restriction in supply of LPG cylinders is likely to help in reducing the under-recovery of OMCs by about Rs. 5,300 crore for the remaining part of the financial year. The under-recovery during 2012-13, even after this measure, is estimated to be above Rs. 32,000 crore. Any number of cylinders will be available over and above the cap of 6 cylinders at market rate. The number of cylinders available to each consumer in the remaining part of this financial year will be 3 cylinders, an official statement said.

ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಕೊರತೆ ನೀಗಿಸಲು ಶೀಘ್ರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ನೇಮಕ

ಪ್ರಸ್ತಕ ವರ್ಷ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಕೊರತೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ಅತಿಥಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾಯಂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ಶೀಘ್ರವೇ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೌಢ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಚಿವ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ಹೆಗಡೆ ಕಾಗೇರಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಸೋಮವಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವೊಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಾರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಅವಧಿ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ವರ್ಷ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಆಗುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಕೊರತೆ ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಹಣಕಾಸು ಇಲಾಖೆಯಿಂದ ಅನುಮೋದನೆ ದೊರೆತ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಕೂಡ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಅವರೂ ಕೂಡ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಇಲಾಖೆ ಅನುಮೋದನೆ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಕೂಡ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಗೆ 3400 ಹಾಗೂ ಪದವಿ ಪೂರ್ವ ಕಾಲೇಜಿಗೆ 1700 ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಶಾಲಾ ವಾತಾವರಣ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟಗೊಳಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗೆ ಒತ್ತು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ ಬಾರಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಮೇಳ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿ ಎರಡೂ ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಖರೀದಿಲು ಹಣ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಸಲ ಅದನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲೆಂದು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿ ಖರೀದಿಸಲು ಪ್ರತಿ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ 4000 ರೂ.ಗಳ ಧನಸಹಾಯ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದರು.

ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ಎಪಿಎಸ್‌ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ 5000 ಹಾಗೂ ಎಚ್‌ಪಿಎಸ್‌ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ 12,000 ರೂ. ಅನುದಾನ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಸಲ ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕೊಠಡಿ ಆಧರಿಸಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ವೆಚ್ಚ ನೀಡಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಂದರೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ಕೊಠಡಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ 1500 ರೂ. ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇದರಿಂದ ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಮೂಲ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಶ್ರಮ ಅಪಾರ. ಅದನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಲಿಕಾ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿ ಖರೀದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ 500 ರೂ. ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಂಗೀತಜ್ಞಾನ ವೃದ್ಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲೆಂದು ಸಂಗೀತ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳ ಖರೀದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ 1500 ರೂ. ಅನುದಾನ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಕಾಗೇರಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಪ್ರೊ| ಆರ್‌.ಗೋವಿಂದ ವರದಿಗೆ ಸಲಹೆ -ಸೂಚನೆಗಾಗಿಯೇ ವೈಬ್‌ಸೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸಲಹೆ ಸೂಚನೆಗೆ ಅವಧಿ ಕೂಡ ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ನೀಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆ ಕೂಡ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಅವಧಿ ಸದುಪಯೋಗವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅವಧಿ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆ ಅಗತ್ಯಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವೆ.

Meeting on rail projects tomorrow

Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa has said that the Railways accord priority to infrastructure projects whose costs are shared by the States.

He said here on Monday that Karnataka had shared half the cost of 15 projects and Andhra Pradesh for 12.

“They remain priority projects. We are committed to completing all of them on time,” Mr. Muniyappa said, before flagging off the Bidar–Hyderabad Intercity Express here. States such as Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu too were following this model now, he said.

“The Karnataka government shared two-thirds of the cost of doubling the railway line between Bangalore and Mysore. The work is in progress and we plan to complete it by December 2012 or early 2013,” he said.

Mr. Muniyappa said the progress of all railway projects in the State would be reviewed at a meeting with Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar in Bangalore on Wednesday.

He said the departure timing of the Nanded–Bangalore Express from Bidar had been changed to 2.30 p.m. from 12.30 p.m. However, it would be difficult for the Railways to change the timings to make it an overnight train from Bidar to the State capital. It involved coordination among three zones and required changes in the timings of other trains, he said. Mr. Muniyappa said the Railways were forced to consider running an intercity train between Bidar–Hyderabad following appeals from the former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh and some other organisations.

The Minister said the Railways could study the demand for extending the Nanded–Bombay Express to Bidar and running trains on the newly laid track between Bidar and Humnabad.

“We would also consider demands of stopping the Kacheguda–Manmad train at Kamal Nagar station in Aurad taluk,” he said.

G.N. Asthana, South Central Railway General Manager, said that they were working on laying new lines between Bidar–Gulbarga, Raichur–Gadwal and Kadapa–Bangarpet. Work on the first two tracks was 60 per cent complete. Work on the third had started.

“We are on the verge of completing a project to convert Bidar Railway Station into an ‘Adarsh’ station. We have given it a facelift and provided passenger amenities. We will build pay and use toilets, platform shelters and extend the foot bridge on either sides,” he said.

15 ಬೋಗಿಯ ರೈಲು, ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ 6 ದಿನ ಸಂಚಾರ : ಇಂಟರ್‌ಸಿಟಿಯಿಂದ ಅನುಕೂಲ : ಬೀದರನಿಂದ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದ

ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ 6 ದಿನ ಹೊಸ ಇಂಟರ್‌ಸಿಟಿ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚರಿಸಲಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ದಿನ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 7ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಬೀದರನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವ ರೈಲು (ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 17009) 9:45ಕ್ಕೆ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದ್‌ಗೆ ತಲುಪಲಿದೆ. ಪುನಃ ಸಂಜೆ 6:30ಕ್ಕೆ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದ್‌ನಿಂದ ಬಿಡುವ ರೈಲು (ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 17010) ರಾತ್ರಿ 9ಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀದರ ತಲುಪಲಿದೆ.

ಸುಮಾರು 15 ಬೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಈ ಇಂಟರ್‌ಸಿಟಿ ರೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಏರ್‌ಕಂಡಿಶನರ್‌ ಚೇರ್‌ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯದ ಬೋಗಿ ಸೇರಿದೆ. ರೈಲು ಬೀದರನಿಂದ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಜಹೀರಾಬಾದ, ವಿಕಾರಾಬಾದ, ಶಂಕರಪಳ್ಳಿ, ಲಿಂಗನಪಳ್ಳಿ ರೈಲು ಸ್ಟೇಷನ್‌ಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದೆ.

ಇಂಟರ್‌ಸಿಟಿಯಿಂದ ಅನುಕೂಲ :
ಬೀದರನಿಂದ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದ ನಡುವೆ ಕೇವಲ 158 ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳ ಅಂತರ ಇರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರೋದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಲಂಬಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಿತ್ಯ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈಗ ಇಂಟರ್‌ಸಿಟಿ ರೈಲಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿದಂತಾಗಲಿದೆ.

ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸ್ಮಾರಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದನಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದರಗೆ ಪ್ರವಾಸ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಬೀದರ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟೂ ಸಾಥ್‌ ನೀಡಿದಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ತಜ್ಞರು.

ಸದ್ಯ ಬೀದರನಿಂದ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದ್‌ಗೆ ರಸ್ತೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರತಿ 15 ನಿಮಿಷಕ್ಕೆ ಒಮ್ಮೆಯಂತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಂಧ್ರ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಬಸ್‌ಗಳು ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಾರಿಗೆ 98 ರೂ. ಮತ್ತು ಆಂಧ್ರ ಸಾರಿಗೆ 102 ರೂ. ಟಿಕೇಟ್‌ ದರ ವಿಧಿಧಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ಹೊಸ ರೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ 35ರಿಂದ 40 ರೂ. ದರ ನಿಗದಿಯಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಹೊರೆ ಇಳಿಸಿದಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ 10ರಂದು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 10ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸಚಿವ ಕೆ.ಎಚ್‌ ಮುನಿಯಪ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸದ ಧರಂಸಿಂಗ್‌ ಇಂಟರ್‌ಸಿಟಿ ರೈಲಿಗೆ ಹಸಿರು ನಿಶಾನೆ ತೋರಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Bidar-Hyderabad Intercity Express (Train No. 17009)

K.H. Muniyappa, Minister of State for Railways, will flag off Bidar-Hyderabad Intercity Express (Train No. 17009) at the Bidar railway station on Monday at 9.45 a.m.

The train will run six-days a week. There will be no service on Saturdays from Hyderabad and on Sundays from Bidar.

The timings of the train is as follows:

It will leave Bidar at 7.00 a.m. and arrive in Hyderabad at 10.25 a.m. It will stop at Zahirabad at 7.21 a.m., Vikarabad at 8.27 a.m., Shankarpalli at 8.56 a.m., Lingampalli at 9.32 a.m., Sanathnagar at 9.47 a.m. and Begumpet at 9.51 a.m.

While returning, Hyderabad-Bidar Intercity Express (Train No. 17010) will leave Hyderabad at 6.45 p.m. and arrive at Bidar at 10.15 p.m. This train has 15 coaches, one AC chair car, 12 second seating, two luggage cum parcel van coaches, said a release.
